Privacy Policy

Just Morse (“we”, “us”) is a free Morse code translator and lesson site. We do not create accounts, and we do not operate a backend that receives the text or Morse you type into the translator.

The only third-party measurement we use is Google Analytics 4, which helps us see which pages are useful and whether the site is working well. Analytics is separate from translation: Morse content is not sent as analytics data.

The following happen entirely in your browser:

• Encoding English to Morse and decoding Morse back to text
• Audio playback and the visual signal lamp
• Lesson progress and related practice state
• Your light/dark theme preference

That information is kept in local browser storage (or memory) on your device. We cannot read it. Clearing your browser data will remove it.

We use Google Analytics 4 to collect aggregated, anonymous usage information. Typical data includes:

• Pages viewed and approximate time on the site
• The current page path associated with an event
• Device and browser details, such as browser type and screen class
• Approximate geographic region (not a precise address)
• Referral source (how you arrived at the site)

Custom events we send include only the event name and the current page path. We do not send the contents of the translator, Morse output, or lesson answers to Google Analytics.

Google may process this data on our behalf and may set cookies such as _ga and related identifiers. Google’s own practices are described in the Google Privacy Policy and How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.

Analytics cookies may be set by Google Analytics to distinguish visits and remember a client identifier.

Local storage is used for site preferences (for example, theme) and lesson progress. These values never leave your browser as part of the translator itself.

You can limit analytics and stored data in several ways:

• Use browser controls to block or delete cookies, including Google Analytics cookies
• Install Google’s Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on
• Enable tracking protection, private browsing, or similar features in your browser
• Clear this site’s local storage if you want to reset theme or lesson progress

Blocking analytics cookies will not stop the translator or lessons from working.

Just Morse is a general-audience educational tool. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because translations stay on the device, there is no account or profile to attach to a young visitor. Analytics, if collected, is the same anonymous usage data described above.

We may update this Privacy Policy when the site or our measurement practices change. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page will change when we do. Continued use of Just Morse after an update means you accept the revised policy.
